Our first away game of 25/26 is nearly here as we travel to Peterborough United at Saturday lunchtime for matchday two.
Live on Sky Sports+ in the UK and available worldwide on LTFC+, Matt Bloomfield’s Hatters will look to build momentum after our opening day win against AFC Wimbledon.
Peterborough were unfortunate not to take anything from their opener at Cardiff City after taking the lead in the first half.

What the managers say
Matt Bloomfield
“Darren isn’t going to change the way he plays. He’s been such a good manager for the level and the Championship for so many years, his teams always have such a clear identity, style and philosophy. He believes in one way and he’s very good at coaching his teams to do that.
“Peterborough have had some really good teams over the years, so we know what they are, what they stand for and how they play their football so it will be a real stern test for us.”
Darren Ferguson
“It is a good game for us, one that we are looking forward too. I am sure it will be a good atmosphere; they have sold out their area behind the goal and I am sure there will be lots of Posh fans there.
“There were positives to take from the opening day, and it wasn't as disappointing as I thought it was live, but there is no doubt we need to use the ball better when we are in possession.”
The opposition
Peterborough’s season began with defeat at Cardiff City last Saturday, with Posh taking a first half lead into the half-time interval.
21-year-old striker Bradley Ihionvein slotted in from the penalty spot after Declan Frith was bundled over in the area.
Posh were unable to hold on as a Cardiff onslaught in the second half meant the host’s took the points, with an exquisite Rubin Colwill free-kick sparking the comeback before Ronan Kpakio found the winner.
Team news
Matt revealed that no new injuries were sustained during Friday night's 1-0 win over AFC Wimbledon, but that new signings Cohen Bramall and Jerry Yates were still being brought up to speed after not playing any minutes during pre-season so far.
There were also positive updates regarding Tahith Chong, who is back on the grass but not in full training yet as he recovers from a groin injury, and midfielder Marvelous Nakamba who continued his return to full fitness with 45 minutes in the Under-21s' friendly win over Leyton Orient on Tuesday.
Lamine Fanne and Mark McGuinness, who both appeared as second half substitutes against the Dons, also played as they continue to build their fitness after concussion and illness disrupted their respective pre-seasons.
Last time out
A late winner for the Hatters on the opening night against Wimbledon temporarily put us top of the table last Friday.
Nahki Wells’ 85th minute cross was met by the head of Dons defender Ryan Johnson, whose header cannoned off the crossbar and into the net.
