Myles Maddix made three changes from the side that defeated Chesham United on Thursday.

Sarah Hudson was given the nod over Nicole Melling in goal, Amber Leighton replaced Jánaye Beaufort in the midfield and Shanice Lewis made a return to the starting XI, in place of Shianne Swarres.

The opening stages were evenly contested, with the Town showing good composure on the ball against the Bees, who were third in the table heading into the fixture.

Leyah Maddix was the first to have an attempt on goal for the Ladies, but her effort from the right-hand side failed to test Tia Ginn, who made a comfortable save.

Against the run of play, London Bees took the lead with minutes remaining before half-time. A long-range free-kick from Millie Isherwood looped over Sarah Hudson and into the back of the net.

Tasha Fensome was forced off through injury just five minutes into the second-half, Jánaye Beaufort came on in her place.

The Town failed to really test Ginn, that was until Lisa Milliken’s effort from the halfway line appeared to be dipping in under the crossbar, but for a vital touch from the Bees’ keeper, tipping it over the crossbar.

Much to the Hatters’ frustration, strong handball claims were waved away by the referee deep into stoppage time. Milliken’s attempted delivery back into the area appeared to strike the outstretched arm of a Bees defender.

Town: Hudson, Blacksley, Tambula, Fensome (sub Beaufort 51), Mulvaney, Maddix (sub Swarres 84), Milliken, O’Leary, Leighton, Lewis, Makowska.

Subs not used: Melling, Fryer, Gayle.
