Back on the road for Burton

Our official match preview for Burton away

Pirelli Stadium.

Luton Town return to the road in Sky Bet League One as we visit Burton Albion (Saturday, 3pm).

Matt Bloomfield’s Hatters will be wanting to get back to winning ways after falling to defeat against Cardiff City last weekend.

Burton have not won in the league since the opening day of the season and were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Lincoln City in midweek.

What the managers said

Matt Bloomfield

“We just need to keep clear minds, go and perform and be the best we can possibly be, and just keep calm in the situation.

“There are going to be times when we are really flying this season. There are going to be times when we have a punch on the nose, like we did on Saturday.

“We need to stay calm, and we need to go about our work and be absolutely motivated to put our best performance out there on Saturday afternoon.”

Gary Bowyer

“With the resources that Luton have available, we know what challenge lies ahead for us on Saturday.

“I think we’ve already shown in the four league games that we are prepared to go and have that challenge. There are lessons that we still need to learn, but at the Pirelli we have picked up four points out of six, so we’ve got to have a real good go at them and see what happens.”

The opposition

Burton done remarkably well to survive League One relegation last season, having been 11 points off the pace at the turn of the year.

Manager Bowyer was rewarded with a new two-year contract in the summer after guiding the Brewers to safety.

Even though Burton have four points from the first four games, all of them have been picked up on home soil.
